Easter devotions to prepare our hearts, our families, and our Church

What does your preparation for Easter usually look like? Perhaps it’s making sure you’ve purchased your favourite easter eggs, organising family catch ups, or making lists of jobs to do over the long weekend…. What about preparing your heart for Easter, what does that look like for you?

While our culture often misses the point of Easter, I think it’s wonderful that it’s still celebrated. Rows and rows of Easter eggs line supermarket stores. Hot Cross buns have been on sale since Boxing Day! Let us not get lost in sultana-filled rolls and foil-covered chocolate eggs. Let’s be intentional in preparing our hearts to celebrate the true meaning of Easter this coming week.

A few years ago, we prepared an Easter devotional booklet to help us do just this as a church. The booklet includes daily Bible readings, meditations, suggested songs to listen to, prayer points, and a family activity for each day. The booklet is designed to be used by individuals and families starting this Monday (25th March) and ending on Easter Sunday (31st April).

It is our hope and prayer that as you follow along with this booklet, God would show you the excellency, riches, and immense depth of His love and mercy that is revealed to us and showered upon us in the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

If you’d like to access the booklet online, you can find it here. On Sunday we will also have copies available at the Connection Centre.

Grace and peace,
